“Rob is an absolute gem of a find. Looking at his portfolio, no two of his garden designs are ever alike. He prides himself in working with the client and their space, and drawing from his many years of experience to create a unique landscape. He worked with us to find a plan that was affordable to implement, and has built up a knowledge bank of suppliers to supply plants, hard landscaping, garden features and labour, saving many, many hours of time. Once the landscapers started, Rob regularly dropped in to see how things were going and help resolve any minor niggles. I've lost count of the number of site visits he's made now, and he always comes across so cheerfully and helpful. His fees are average, but his work is exceptional. I would absolutely recommend Rob to anyone wanting an experienced, professional garden designer.”

“We asked Fiona to design our garden when we moved into our new build and had no idea where to start. The garden was very much a blank canvas, overlooked by neighbours and steeply sloping from front to back. Fiona took time to understand our preferences, how we live and how we wanted to use the garden. She came up with an excellent design which sits well with the style of the house, has dealt with the issues over privacy and levels and has quite simply transformed the space. The implementation of the design was not without its challenges but Fiona recommended some excellent landscapers and together they resolved every issue calmly and efficiently. Most of all we love the planting and we look forward to watching the plants grow and develop as the garden matures. Our knowledge of plants is somewhat superficial but Fiona managed to interpret our ideas into a selection of plants that are exactly what we wanted. Essentially we know have a stunning garden that is a constant source of pleasure - practical, beautifully laid out, thoughtfully planted and easy to maintain. Fiona has been professional, knowledgeable and creative and a pleasure to work with. We would have no hesitation in recommending her services.”

“We are so pleased to have chosen Robert Hughes Garden Design (Cheshire) to design and oversee a transformation of our side garden. The difficult challenge in our case was to achieve a quality split level contemporary design on an awkward shaped site. Rob's design not only met our brief 100% but thereafter, with various minor amendments, continued to surpass it. Apart from his exceptional design skills and friendly personality, Rob also has the benefit of past 'hands on' practical experience, and this really showed in his project management and our discussions on fine detail. Through Rob we had also gained the services of an excellent contractor. The end result is a beautiful garden which has hugely improved the enjoyment of our home and which friends and visitors often simply describe as 'stunning'. We cannot recommend him highly enough.
