“Lyle and his crew did an amazing, amazing, amazing job on our HW floors!!! My wife and I recently moved into a home in Frankfort, IL that was built in 1987, and the original hardwood floors had never been re-finished. We had deep traffic patterns, dog scrapes, water marks, dark patches, discoloration- in short-it just looked pretty ratty through most of the house. Lyle met with us and described the advantages of the Swedish refinishing method and how durable and long-lasting it is compared to poly/oil. We really wanted something that would wear well as we have four small kids, and they are tough on wood floors- so we liked the idea of the Swedish method. However, we were thinking that this method might cost a lot more than traditional poly or oil, so we didn't know if we would would go that route. After our initial consult, Lyle came back with an estimate that was very reasonable. We were thrilled that we could now get S&W on the job because of the four contractors we consulted with, Lyle was the most knowledgeable and passionate the process. Also, his insights on what color/finish we might want to go with were extremely valuable. Fast forward to the job--- Lyle and his crew arrived on time, they were enthusiastic and courteous, they were helpful in moving a wee bit of furniture, and they got right to work. It was impressive to watch them work as well. These guys are obviously true craftsman/floor mechanics. The finished floors are gorgeous! They look better than brand new! My wife says she could, "just sit in a chair and stare at them." : ) Lyle's custom color mix is perfect and the satin/semi-gloss sheen on the floors is just right. They really have turned the first floor of our home into a whole new space. A+++ for S&W Wood Floors. I trust them implicitly and cannot recommend them enough. “We were referred to Rite Way for our flooring project by a friend. We were looking to refinish our existing prefinished hardwood floors and install new hardwood in 2 adjoining rooms. He was punctual and friendly for the estimate and very honest about the challenges and expected finished project. The quote was very reasonable. When the day came to start the project they were running behind from a previous project but did update us as to their expected start time. I could not be happier with the end result. They were able to blend the two very different hardwood types and make it look like all one original floor. In all honesty, I didn't think for a moment that anyone could make a floor that hadn't been sanded/cut one time since it was laid in 1998 look IDENTICAL to a floor laid last week, but I kid you not, he did it. Not only did they move all the appliances and large items of furniture beforehand they also put everything back in its place after and this was HUGE as we have a very heavy china cabinet. They even came back with their trailer to pick up the carpet rolls instead of leaving it for us to discard. They were very helpful in giving tips on the balance of our project that we are planning on completing ourselves. We will for sure use them for more flooring needs on our next projects. A reasonable timeline, a reasonable price, appliance moves, respectful of our home and belongings, tips on how to maintain the floors, humidity tips, attention to detail and overall skill and craftsmanship. The comparable quotes I received didn't include the moving of appliances. And for those with dust concerns, the vacuum system on the sander kept the dust to a minimum. A terrific job done at a competitive price.”
