“Dave, and Mindful Designs Inc., helped us design, budget, and is now building our custom home. I would describe Dave's approach to design much like a police sketch artist. Without realizing he was doing so, I would find that he had listened to the details I was sharing and our visions and styles and had incorporated then into a design that not only fit our budget but was exactly what I didn't know I wanted. There were lots of design elements we felt strongly about and others we were indifferent toward. Dave made room for our ideas when they were present and interjected some awesome notion when we had no opinion. His ability to listen, process, and create is paramount and his willingness to let your priorities and wishes guide the process while sprinkling his wisdom throughout the process combine to make the design experience seamless. He does not rest until he sees joy in his clients' eyes. We are still in the process of building but so far it's been a transparent, manageable experience and we have felt we are in MDI's capable hands. I'd wholeheartedly recommend MDI if you want a unique house that is wise about energy, beautiful, and an overall good experience to craft.”

“You hear horror stories all the time about builders. Not at all my experience with Tobacco Valley. Our home was done on time, on budget and with so little stress. I can't focus on that enough. The process was, dare I say wonderful. I would build with Keith and his crew any time. My house turned out EXACTLY like my dreams. I love these guys. Some specifics: this was the only company that welcomed sweat equity and let us help build it. But there was never a time there was not someone to help, guide, and offer advice for us as most of the things we did we had never tried to do before. I had the basic design, but Keith helped me make it more efficient and make changes necessary for codes and good building practices. They helped guide us to the right subcontractors and stores to pick cabinets, floors, etc. Every thing was done in the time frame we set out. When I made changes, fortunately not many, it was like I asked for the time of day. It was effortless, at least for me. There's lots more, but it was all good. Having built 2 houses before, I can honestly say this was the best experience. Laura Garner”

“Professional, skilled, creative, high quality, timely, and on budget are a few of the words I have used to describe my building experience with SImonson. Scott and his team really cared about getting the job done right. They asked for our input and got us involved in the selection and placement of Logs in the structural build of our home. Just what I had asked for! I was impressed with the creativity used, skill to put it all together and that they actually liked showing me how it was going to look when in place but before the logs ever went up. Also, they have continued to follow up on any questions I had. We used 3 different wood species in our home. They helped tie them all together. I highly recommend making sure your builder is using Simonson Log & Timber for Log or Timber work.”

“I hired this company to remove existing kitchen cabinets and replace with new "ready made" cabinets. I also had them remove two old sliding glass doors in the living room and replace them with a French door and a picture window. This is a 30-year-old log cabin and several adjustments were required. Jeff and his crew arrived on time and went right to work. The kitchen was completed in a little over two days and the door and window were completed by the end of that week. There was minimal mess, which they cleaned up, and the work was superb. The kitchen now looks like a custom kitchen and is beautiful. The logs around the openings for the door and window had to be trimmed and both units fit perfectly, are well sealed and the new trim, inside and out, is beautiful and fits the log cabin perfectly. This company is very professional, easy to get along with, and communications were excellent throughout the project. The standard of work is excellent.”
