“Jim and Dan Ludwig (Hometown Design-Build) transformed an under-utilized breakfast area and powder room into an efficient and very attractive Arts & Crafts kitchen, in keeping with my late-Victorian house. And they turned my old kitchen into a 2nd bath, complete with tub and shower. With close attention to detail throughout, the Ludwig’s created these spaces to reflect the rest of the house, down to the moldings used in all the doors, floors and windows. With the exception of efficient new plumbing and lighting, these rooms give one the illusion that they have always been here, an integral part of the original design.”

“I have worked with Marty through two large remodel/additions in older homes I have owned. The first was a bathroom and study addition in a 1920's house. When I sold the house nearly 15 years later, this was the single feature that everyone talked about who looked at the house. It looked brand-new because the quality of work was so high. The second project is a large remodel of my carriage house in an older brick home. The carriage house was in serious dis-repair and needed to be completely stripped down to the exterior walls and the garage floor re-poured. This required architectural and engineering design. Marty's contribution to the design process easily saved me $20K+ by considering how the spaces within the carriage house were going to be used. It was his creative thinking that brought about this re-design when neither the engineer or the architect considered these options. Plans were redrawn and the project moved along according to schedule but at considerable savings to me. Marty is very professional but personable, approachable and clearly enjoys his work. He keeps close track of sub-contractors and is readily available on the job-site. If not present, he is easily reachable and responds both thoughtfully and promptly. He has the obvious respect of his professional colleagues, enabling him to consistently complete projects within deadlines and often before-hand. His estimates are consistently on-point with no hidden or un-disclosed costs. He is a pleasure to work with and I would choose to work with him again on subsequent projects.”

“I am in the process of building a modern Arts and Crafts house, which is going very smoothly. From what I have observed, the teams of workers - basement, framing, roofing - have all worked well and quickly, and speak highly of Derek. Derek and I meet regularly to assess what is next for deadlines and within budget, and he patiently answers/explains my many information requests. ( We have known each other now for two and a half years in getting this whole project going.) Workmanship is excellent quality based on Derek's experience in housebuilding from start to finish and organization of the worker teams so everyone always knows where to go, when, and there is never a dull moment at any work site. “Fabio went to our house to install the kitchen tiles and the laminates. His work was perfect in every instance and he actually did much more than he was asked. He knew we had only 3 weeks in total to renovate the entire house and he made sure not only to meet his targets but to also support the other contractors to meet theirs. He helped them to finalize the stairs and the tapping throughout the ceiling and walls. What an amazing result! I completely recommend him!!”
