The Interior Edge
This project was a complete renovation. It was the first project a newlywed couple did together. In one of the first meetings we all agreed we loved the Osborne and Little striped polka dot fabric (pillow on the chairs and sofa). The room grew from there. A main objective was to enhance the view of Central Park all the way to the Palisades. We kept the walls light and the upholstery monochromatic, except for a dash of off white in the Hugues Chevalier (Ying Armchair). The area rug is large and almost square we had it made by Royce wool carpets. Joanne and Bill Riley custom designed it. The background was kept the blue of the upholstery further grounding the space yet keeping it quiet enough with only red and gold accents (there are actually 9 colors in the rug, but they are the same hues as the 3 main colors) The wood of the dining area adds a solid feel. (Table and chairs by Stanley furniture) Along the long wall is a 20' built-in with a Costa Smerelda granite counter top, as. storage space is at a premium in NYC. There is enough room for a small bar area on the left, dining area storage in the middle and to the far right. Also, in the middle is a 50" TV that comes up out of the granite and audio equipment. Above the built-in are wall to wall mirrors with glass shelves hanging from them. This keeps an open and spacious feel. The accessories keep it welcoming. The wall sconces (also on the mirrors) are by Currey and Co. The large crown molding and the high gloss ceiling add to the subtle drama. The small custom wood cabinet is made of Claro Walnut with ebonized Ash legs and handles by Hubel Handcrafted. It sits between the window and the door keeping you centered in the space. All in all an easy space to enjoy!

Dining room with rounded wall of windows becomes something special by adding horizontal striped window panels between each window. LBL spot lights are mounted above each panel to illuminate the beauty of the silk fabric used on these treatments. Espresso stained Dining table and chairs upholstered in Kravet fabric sits in front of a custom built china cabinet spanning the entire wall and over the entrance door to the Kitchen. A spectacular Chandelier sets the most amazing focal point o this room!

SV Design
Having been neglected for nearly 50 years, this home was rescued by new owners who sought to restore the home to its original grandeur. Prominently located on the rocky shoreline, its presence welcomes all who enter into Marblehead from the Boston area. The exterior respects tradition; the interior combines tradition with a sparse respect for proportion, scale and unadorned beauty of space and light.

http://downtownphotos.ca | When purchased in 2011 this brand new condo had light birch parquet floors and bare white walls - the exact opposite of what our Client envisioned. Purchased predominantly for its amazing view of the Toronto skyline, we worked closely to transfer this blank canvas into the desired space without taking away from the incredible view. Replacing floors, lighting fixtures, painting the walls, adding pot lights, artwork, accessories and new furnishings throughout, the end product is a rustic, urban retreat. Predominantly grey, brown and quite neutral, especially the big purchase items, we used a lot of texture and a "Veuve Clicquot" orange accent to add visual interest.
Favourite pieces include the grey sectional made in Canada, exotic cowhide rug, rustic yet industrial walnut dinning table from northern Ontario (that took some convincing but truly makes the space) as well as the colourful art work purchased from a talented local artist.

A dining space is an asset in any apartment, but it needs to work hard to earn its place! Here, the table is beautifully slim, so it doesn’t overwhelm the room, yet still provides space for everything from homework to entertaining. A flexible mix of chairs and a bench can seat a crowd, while the elegant console table and wall units provide valuable storage and help the room feel properly fleshed out. A simple coir rug is the finishing touch, anchoring the dining set and highlighting the flowing route around the room.
