Sustainable Beach From Estate

A SUSTAINABLE BEACHFRONT ESTATE Completed 2009 in Kailua, Oahu This sustainable new construction home was built to maximize Hawaii’s natural elements. The original structure was deconstructed to salvage valuable redwood, glass, hardware and framing lumber. The existing slab was removed and sent to California to be crushed and recycled. All the framing lumber is FSC certified and the steel beams are made of recycled Iodized steel. By using more than 132 windows in this new construction project, the natural ventilation and sunlight drastically reduces the energy consumption of this Kailua home.
