Spacial Adaptation

The 1st floor of the home was in great need of updating, the client also wanted to bring more light to the living area & kitchen as well as create a more appealing way to separate the eating & living spaces. The contractor discovered that the attic space above the family area could be re-engineered to accommodate a vault. Along with the cedar paneled ceiling, the vault created an amazing stone feature of the reworked fireplace. After much debate, the client also agreed to trust Michelle’s suggestion to loose some of the wall storage in the kitchen for the addition of an 8 foot window. Not only did the large window bring a tremendous amount of light into the space, it also opened the kitchen to view the gorgeous backyard which Keith planted and maintains himself! Michelle also designed an architectural showpiece between the living and eating areas that balanced the space and provided wonderful additional storage as well as the “divide” the client requested. Additionally, a fabulous new kitchen, powder room, french doors in his home office, maple floors, doors and trim work throughout the first floor transformed the home all within the existing footprint!
