The original wall separating the kitchen and sunroom was at the foreground, in line with the brown cabinetry you see here. Load bearing structural elements had to be retained on each side of this pass through creating an opportunity to integrate cabinetry between with an opening above, allowing natural light to filter into the space beyond.
