This project in Gujarat reminded me of that time of festivities when we all used to sit together to make gujiya's on the occasion of Holi. Sitting in the living room with lots of dough, rolling pins and ofcourse Holi tv shows. . . Those time used to be my favourite where living and kitchen area used to merge automatically and at the night we sleep with all the gears for Holi. . Back to the design of the project, we got to design the living and kitchen area for a Gujarati family in a very authentic style. Here It is with atom design touch of memory to it. . .

The goal of this renovation project was to transform the congested spaces into a cozy yet open and inviting home that serves as a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The central vision was to create large, extroverted spaces that are light and airy, providing a seamless connection to nature. To achieve this, the we began by analyzing the existing layout and identifying areas that required major modifications. Then we reimagined the layout by creating more open spaces and connecting indoor and outdoor areas to give the home a natural flow. We drew inspiration from the clients' cultural heritage and love for modernity, merging the two into a cohesive design language. We worked closely with the clients to understand their personalities, preferences, and nostalgic memories to incorporate them into the overall design. To establish a connection to nature, the we chose materials, textures, and fabrics that evoke a sense of being outdoors. Natural materials such as wood and stone were incorporated throughout the house, while fabrics with organic patterns and motifs added to the natural theme. The landscape design also played a crucial role in establishing a connection to nature, with trees and plants carefully selected to create a familiar environment for the clients.

" TRADITIONAL AND MODERN HOOK UP" for those who love traditional Indian decor. These home can be an inspiration for creating a space that is modern with an Indian twist. Elsewhere, a netural-colored plaster wall is embllished with wooden archs a type of decoration typically of home in Rajasthan and Gujarat. The bedroom is fine example of how to merge modern minimalis with ethnic intricacy. Ceiling pannels in vibrant fabric stand out in contrast to the more contemporary - looking walls.

For this residential project, we decided to use of the trending and elegant grey colour because it provides the perfect canvas for just about any style. By using wallpapers, laminate and textured paint, we gave a contemporary twist to the traditional idea. While keeping white as a base colour to give the house an airy vibe, we have also used colours from the warm colour palette to enhance the space’s comfy aura. A space-saving L shaped sofa in grey is paired with colour popping tones of blue and yellow to amplify the contrast effect. The main highlight in the living room is the mural work on the wall where the TV is placed. In the L-shaped kitchen, we have utilised all the available space in an optimal fashion by fitting in the limited space numerous features like a unit to a dedicated built-in space for appliances and enough over-head storage. Sliding doors are a great solution as you don’t need the clearance area after leaving the doors open. We have included them in the design to avoid space wastage. Though the bed in Master bedroom is simple in design, the motif patterned wallpaper gives a room a royal look while complementing the overall colour scheme.
