Acrylic on sheetrock, all walls and ceiling of bedroom and 1 wall of bath.
Inspired by the client’s favorite Beatrix Potter stories and illustrations, this mural features a sunrise sky spreading across the walls and ceiling, with a landscape background around all of the walls. The four poster Venetian bronze crib has a silk 3-D canopy fashioned after a hot air balloon with its trompe l’oeil top painted into the ceiling. The fabrics supplied inspiration for the colors of the mural, while the finish and design of the furniture helped determine the intensity of the design. While the Peter Rabbit tales are the inspiration for this mural, the characters have been enlarged, intensified and enhanced from the original softer and more sketch-like watercolor paintings in order to coordinate with the client’s tastes in decor. The mural also includes 3 of the family Pomeranians, as well as the characters Peter Rabbit, Flopsy, Mopsy, Cotton Tail, and Mother Rabbit, Jemima Puddleduck, Jeremy Fisher, Owl Brown, Squirrel Nutkin, Mrs. Tiggywinkle, Mr. Todd the fox, and mice from the Tailor of Gloucester.

Bedroom makeover for a pre-teenaged girl. The entire room was furnished and decorated with a very low budget. The linens, pillows, throw rugs and mosquito net were purchased from chic, but value priced retailers. Most of the furnishings were purchased from second hand shops and then painted. The custom made striped valances are trimmed with white feather boas.

A bedroom imagined for two sisters in a playful pink and orange palette, this space features matching twin beds with vintage headboards upholstered Robert Allen Design fabric. We selected this headboard design for its curved shape, which was at once classic and contemporary. Bedding from Serena & Lily, an orange bed sham from Pottery Barn, and a custom pillow in Robert Allen Design fabric create a bed that is both youthful and elevated. An original donut painting by Terry Romero Paul provided by Simon Breitbard Gallery rests above each bed. The bedroom walls are covered in orange cerused oak print wallpaper from Nobilis, provided by Kneedler-Fauchère. Custom window treatments in Robert Allen Design fabric, a vintage bedside table wrapped in pink and gold metallic wallpaper from Osborne & Little, and a custom glass lamp from Studio Bel Vetro provided by Quintus create a vibrant yet restful retreat.

Turned attic storage space into two bedrooms for my kids. Did it all myself so it cost around $120 in paint and polyurethane, $15 in sandpaper for the floors, around $8 for spackle and wood filler, and $15 for trim. A couple of dollars for plastic to cut out polka dot templates. Used pieces of old sheet-rock to patch holes in the walls, so well under $200 for everything. Turned a closet into a little reading room. There are some before shots taken before I bought the house.
