This master bath was completely remodeled taken down to the studs. Originally it had a linen closet, jetted built-in tub and small shower. Now, it's an open spa-like, tranquil retreat. The shower is double the previous size and has a walk-in feature. The tub is a stand alone soaking tub. The vanity was purchased from an antique store and then turned into a vanity. It is a combination of contemporary meets classic with the floor to ceiling marble and the chandelier above the bathtub even the fixtures have a classic yet contemporary line.

The bath was picked out of a skip. It had one small hole in it, easily fixed with fibre glass. The mural was carried out by friend and neighbour, Nik Purdy of Blow Designs. Using sign-writing paint on an acrylic-aluminium composite (used for external signs), it is completely waterproof. The lack of joints mean it is a breeze to keep clean - no problem with grout. A small free-standing tub and a cobalt blue vanity make this bathroom charming and unique. Pale blue walls, white trim, and a cream stone vanity top make for a lovely watery palette. An oval mirror, wall-mounted sconces, and bronze fixtures add warm details to the bathroom, and the circular shower curtain bar adds privacy for the bather and more visual space when the bath is not in use. This long and narrow bathroom (typical on the north side of Chicago) was remodeled using industrial grade bamboo wood flooring in espresso brown, white Bianco Carrera 12” x 12” marble tiles and traditional Kohler Memoirs toilet and pedestal sink. This bathroom turned out amazing, even better in person! I think my favorite is the tub filler from the ceiling, it gives a waterfall effect when filling. We designed the whole bathroom around the marble sinks my clients found and loved!
