This master baths serves as a restful retreat from everyday life. The project included the removal of an existing wall to create an enlarged space and the installation of a custom 3-Form acrylic panel hung with barn door hardware to make a special entry into the new bath. Mahogany cabinetry with espresso finish, large format porcelain tile, white Carrara marble, and Lagos Azul limestone in a herringbone pattern create a relaxing atmosphere and provide the bath with contemporary style. The clean and simple soaking tub and the large, custom frameless glass shower add to the tranquility and spa-like feel of the space.

Mud and Wood
The bath was picked out of a skip. It had one small hole in it, easily fixed with fibre glass. The mural was carried out by friend and neighbour, Nik Purdy of Blow Designs. Using sign-writing paint on an acrylic-aluminium composite (used for external signs), it is completely waterproof. The lack of joints mean it is a breeze to keep clean - no problem with grout.

Design Build 4U Chicago
This long and narrow bathroom (typical on the north side of Chicago) was remodeled using industrial grade bamboo wood flooring in espresso brown, white Bianco Carrera 12” x 12” marble tiles and traditional Kohler Memoirs toilet and pedestal sink. The overall look is both traditional and modern, relaxing and spa-like. Photos by Design Build 4U Chicago.
