Love the orientalism. This dining room has a gold ceiling. The SF-tech money-funded interior decorator is obsessed with ridiculous white leather dining chairs. She looks like Jayne Mansfield and her small portfolio includes the holistic 1980s decoration of a Beverly Hills 'bachelor' (divorcee?) mansion. Hm.

Except for the round table, this is pretty much how I'd rather have our dining room. Love the narrow bank of cabinetry against the wall, the clerestory windows, the ceiling height, the wood, the glass wall & doors at the end of the room.

Q

Perfect. Prolly should go in Bourgetopia.

When we need to redo the dining room: black, wood, and SW Paperwhite. Try to get a metallic in there. A beautiful black is BM Midnight Oil.

Love these pale modern cane-backed chairs.

This corner stack of glass windows would be a pleasant wall treatment at the dining room/kitchen back of the house.

Q

Gorgeous japonaise beam solution to bolstering walls & ceiling, adding huge floor-to-ceiling black-trimmed windows. Love the stove in here as well.

Q

Love the sunken fireplace area, with big windows on either side of the wide limestone floor-to-ceiling fireplace chimney. It's a cozy lounging pond. Would be great off the back of the diningroom.

wall removed, support beam maintained.

Got this gold-tone cutlery at IKEA 12/17.

Along with removing walls, adding nice windows, lighting and flooring, adding trim and wainscotting to walls is a cheap way to class a house up.

Q

Handsome black paned window wall and stone mass fireplace.

Q

Handsome: Symmetrical floor-to-ceiling black-paned windows flank white-mass fireplace

This diningroom is idyllic in that it is both grand and cozy. High ceilings, great paned window wall, wood floor and (perfect-sized) dining table, low-profile leather chairs, and intimate pendant lighting to emphasize ceiling height. Hate the Halloween armoire, but love the opposing plant.

Q

Art museum livingroom. Only flaws are the tacky rug and useless clutter coffeetable: Lost the plot there.

Dette er koldt, hårdt sexet.

Black or grey velvet curtains and white trim in the gold dining room?

This is more or less the proportions of our living-dining area. Soothing linen paint with large glass ball-brass hardware chandeliers under ceiling medallions is nice, flexible. 3 big advantages here: 2 fireplaces, built-in bookshelves and glass garden doors with clerestory window.

Q

I really like this triumvirate of tall french doors. Would be very nice across the back of the house.

Q

Love the wood combo bench-stairs up to the folding wood-trimmed glass door wall onto the deck. This would be an ideal end to the diningroom.

Q

arbor pattern on walls.

Q

Dining room would be so much nicer with 2 North windows at the end, and 2 high but large east windows, like here. Love the elegant green walls here, w/white curtains and wood & oriental rug floor. The furniture is preciously stupid.

Q

Diningroom color: ivory matelasse curtains on dark bronze rod; copper-green accent. So: In dining room, copper-green matelasse curtains.

Q

Pure integrity: filament bulbs in smoky glass chandelier. Beautiful artwork on white high walls. Danish furniture & parquet floor. Jag alska det.

Q

white arbor graphic on gold background. note occasional illustrated birds. woodwork stained reddish.

Q

airy, delicate gold-brass accents, including arched mirror.
