well, I love this but I know you're not ready for it. I love the idea of hammocks back there. I just can't figure out how to hang them. okay new idea. an L shaped couch in center with lots of small side tables around or one big coffee table and hammocks on three sides hanging from the pergola. or maybe just 2 hammocks.

You could have a grid of pavers and small rocks. Would be less expensive and you just add the rocks on every few years. For example, I'm adding rocks for first time in my yard. It's been around 5 years since I redid it.

I pulled this photo to show you the privacy screens that I mentioned in another photo. These screens are a really nice way to divide the space and created interest. You can get them on Wayfair. I'll pull some when I start putting all of these ideas together into one cohesive design.

I pulled this photo just to emphasize the different stations/sections in the yard. BBQ, seating and fire-pit. I think for your yard I'm thinking BBQ/bar area, lounging and fire pit. Lounging vs table and chairs. Would love to hear thoughts on that.

The tall black eyed Susan's add a lot of dimension to the space. Can't keep everything hugging the ground.

The center shape is really lovely. Mostly paved with just enough greens. This feels spatially like your yard. I love the curve at the end.

This also could be really beautiful. If you left some spaces in strategic spots to fill in with crawling thyme and a little sea grass towards the edges. It would immediately upscale the whole yard and be an amazing canvas to the rest of the yard.

I like this look for pavers. It's a mixture of sizes that I think adds interest. I would leave the edges for greenery/interest. I like the idea of the wood wall with peek a boo area for bamboo behind it. so think of this photo as the skeleton. Don't look at table/chairs or lattice wall.
