I would use whichever Asian piece fits the tv as a tv console. Then purchas or have custom built...two large column bookcases one on each side of the credenza...to reach to the soffit. Install glass shelves in the bookcases. Get rid of the cream sofa...I can't tell what is opposite it, but, it is white. It looks like you have too much large furniture all fighting to have their style be "the winner" and nothing meshes. Use the lower asian cabinet under the window...then a cluster of the traditional style chairs grouped for conversation. 2 and 2 facing each other perpendicular to the window. The small tables could be between the chairs. They could be very similar to the armchair that is in the picture, not matching...but the wood frames all the same color and the upholstery the same. Then repeat the upholstery in decorative pillows on the sofa. Using the armchairs in the traditional area, gives you lots of flexibility as you can easily move them over facing the sofa when you wish to create a larger conversational grouping, or facing the tv when there is something special you want to watch. Get rid of the curio cabinet and the round glass table as they are too much in contrast with the leather sofa. Paint the smaller tables in a bright color to add a pop of color...repeating the color in pillows on the sofa. (I see an orangey colored throw on the sofa...that would be a nice accent color) You could add lights in the bookcase columns for interest. Then, look for an unusual lamp or chandelier to hang in the corner behind the curve of the sofa. I would hang floor to ceiling draperies with the large grommets in the top to repeat the medalian on the asian pieces. Add a wide band of the accent color to the bottom of the draperies. Place 2 unique wall sconces on each side of the wall unit...something that draws the 2 styles together, maybe with hints of the accent color. A large piece of artwork, which includesvthe accent color, to be hung over the sofa. It would be fun to have a frame in an ornate traditional style, but painted to match the asian pieces. HI -- If you could find a squared console or buffet cabinet that will fit against the side of your big cabinet that is close to the style and color of the big cabinet , then place the TV on top or hang the TV on the wall with a swing bracket . Then add a, just as long, floating shelf over top of the TV .at a level no higher than the top of the big cabinet. Ikea might have something that would work for you that is black or something you could paint to match your big cabinet.

Instead of temple with storage, go only for the temple, one open, spacious temple with some glass or any other treatment as per your budget. In the kitchen don't go for the show kitchen thing as you'll be needing dry platform for your gadgets. The sink shouldn't be near the cook top. The offset provided at the end of the main platform isn't correct, instead go for a 27" or 30" platform which is convenient to the cook. In bedrooms, there isn't enough storage. we require dimensions for rest of the layout furniture placement.

Hi Julie, Today there are a number of custom made multipurpose furniture pieces that are available in the market on the one hand whereas on the other certain regular pieces if used innovatively don't hurt your pocket yet solve the purpose. .Here are a few ideas to choose from - 1] Sofa cum bed Either go in for the ready made and built in sofa cum bed as shown below - or make two different pieces - a sofa with backrest and a backless settee and join them to form a bed when necessary - 2] Trunk cum coffee table An old trunk serves as an excellent coffee table and also doubles up as a storage for your extra cushions, magazines etc. 3] Bench cum dining seat Go for a basic bench or an upholstered one, its still a cheap buy. You may use it by the dining table for seating or move it to the living or even the bedroom. 4] Settee cum storage A small ledge with drawers or a free standing box storage, all it needs is a cushioning on top and it serves as a reading nook with place to store you books or as a place to sit and wear you footwear that's stored inside. 5] Nest tables These are a blessing in disguise. They can be easily moved around and can be used as end tables for living room or side tables for bedroom or can remain stacked in a corner when not needed. Go for simple designs or ornate ones depending on you budget. 6] Cabinet cum TV Console An old cabinet can be put to use by mounting a TV on top of it while the cabinet can be used to store media accessories. Tip: Do visit Chor Bazaar in Mumbai and Lajpat Nagar in Delhi where you can find old reclaimed furniture or cheap replicas. These are open for bargain and are a good buy as far as the pricing and aesthetic is concerned. You can also find furniture online these days. Just be wary of what you are buying and from where.
