I love the old wooden theater-style fire-pit seating.

Did you have to do anything special to preserve the wooden seats from the elements? I know it sometimes rains here in Santa Cruz.

Yes it does rain, though not enough yet this year!. So covers are necessary for these and advisable for most outdoor furniture, even redwood weathers.
