I totally agree with OnePlan..........Design a custom kitchen that works for you. You can get bids for both types of cabinetry, modular pre-manufactured and custom fabricated by a local cabinet maker. Both are great ways to go.
Also, the cost of hiring an architect or a kitchen designer will balance out with the savings that will come with good design and the knowledge that they will bring to the project.
