Hello Vinita, Is it feasible to build a roof cover structure with GI sheets or natural materials ? It is the best way to avoid the roof getting direct sun light and eventually heatup. HDF is High Density Fibreboard as opposed to MDF which is medium density fibreboard. If sealed properly it can be used outdoors as panels set within hardwood frames. Better still is marine grade plywood

Veneer with White PU is a great Option. Alternatively you can go with Duco which is slightly cheaper than PU. Laminates always have a sharp edge unless done with the right expertise. Fabrics, if going with white, should be scotch-guarded. Mostly, white PU will work on table tops too, but if you want to use a sturdy option, go for white lacquered glass or White marble.
