You didnt feel the tie beam was an issue with cabinets? I have 8ft kitchen being expanded to 10ft kitchen so the cabinets are not at the same height and it looks off in the design

    Hello and thank you for your question. We wanted the beams to flow along with the overall look and kind of "hide" so we did create some drywall bulkheads instead of a short upper cabinet like above the fridge. We have completed other projects where we run the beams into the upper cabinets for a really nice finished look without varying cabinet heights. I hope that helps and good luck with your project!

    The beam ended at the fridge, so the cabinets to the right were unaffected and go up to the ceiling, photo below:
