You list is all "stone" products. Stone products are natural. The durability is guaranteed with stone. Stain resistant...remove marble and granite from your list. Both can stain and etch and both will do this with "flooring" more than they will with a counter top. Gloss levels all change...but it will take years to do it. All stones have maintenance = homeowner needs to work at keeping stone looking good. Stone = expensive. There is no "benefit" for "reasonable" when working with stone. They all cost plenty of money. Stone is expensive. No way around it. If you want "glossy" that doesn't stain for a "good price" then you have forgotten to mention the BEST option: porcelain tiles. Porcelain will do everything you want for a lower price. Stone is expensive, it can stain (especially "oil" stains) it will "etch" or lose gloss level with certain liquids (acid based liquids will do this) and they all need to be maintained and eventually need repolishing to maintain "gloss". Durable is all you can expect out of stone. The rest of your wish list belongs with porcelain tiles.

agree with Rupal. One floor option makes the place look larger and keeps the flow. If you wish to differentiate you should only do it in the master bedroom with wooden flooring and in the kids with vinyl or stone or any tile of your choice. Not doing too many floor finishes would also prevent the place from being broken up into different areas that need a separate look and while that look would compliment all the elements in it, you would have to care to see that it doesnt jar the other elements in the house. So for all practical design purposes I think its a good idea to stick to a single neutral flooring element that would compliment the look of each area.

Hi Anchal, You may go for different flooring materials for different rooms. However here are a few pros and cons - Pros - Different floorings demarcate the formal and informal spaces in a house and can add character to the space. Colourful IPS flooring, wooden flooring etc. are used these days to highlight a certain space such as the balcony/ terrace and drawing room respectively. You can spend more on the more formal spaces such as dining, living and drawing and go for cheaper flooring options for the bedrooms, bathrooms and balconies. Tip: It is best to appoint an interior designer or an architect if you are opting for different floors and they can guide you better with respect to the colours and combinations. Cons - Different types of flooring visually divide the space and make it look smaller than it actually is. Also, as rightly mentioned above, the wastage of material is more as compared to going for a single flooring type. A single type of flooring a makes the space look seamless and hence larger to perceive. Italian marble works best when going for this option. You may also go for other stones such as granite, jaisalmer and kota. If it gets too monotonous, grooves, different sized stones and patterns of laying can help break it.
