So you're running two threads on this space? I think you'll be happier with the responses if you stick to one thread for the entire makeover, as it is all inter-dependent - foyer - living - dining. Now that I know that the living dining are together I'd suggest you use measurements from the blocked space above the windows to determine stripe width in the dining space if you go with the wide horizontal stripes I suggested. The pattern is already set for you if you take the measurements. You could also make the stripes the width of your lower window section, or half of it, but use the horizontal lines already in your space to determine the other stripes you may add.

I would however like to clarify my requirements/dilemma a bit more. 1) The built/carpet area for this 3 BHK is about 1600 sqft (Superbuilt 1960 sqft). What is the appropriate tile size I need to scout for? More specifically, will Ultima-range-like huge tile sizes (i.e. 120x180cm2, 120x120cm2) be suitable for this area? 2) While I am thinking of white (based) tiles, I am not necessarily looking for super-white tones (it gives a bit of a commercial look, and will need extreme maintenance). Something more practical, and with some depth/dimension is what I am trying to identify. Any suggestions? 3) Would you advice that I consider other white-toned flooring options like Terrazzo (Bharat Floorings is having a Cast-in-Situ option, but I am yet to go to their showroom)? Hi Tanmayi, Going for white walls is always safe, this will helps in giving a light feel to the room plus gives a lot of scope to bring in the patters and colours to the room in other forms (like curtains, cushions, wall art/frames, etc) PAINT SHADE(2 Options) Would also like to advice you to have a subtle wallpaper either in the niche portion of the TV wall or for the entire headboard wall. (Assuming the other walls may have windows or doors) SOME WALLPAPER REFERENCE IMAGES: Later you can gradually bring in other elements as per your taste and time and pull up the room together.
