softyjain, If the windows need to be replaced I recommend looking at fixed steel to maintain the narrow profile of the windows and small window lites. Using fixed instead of operating will be a cost savings if you don't need to open them. Another option for hanging from the ceiling is a decorative light or chandelier. The architectural design appears to be Mediterranean. Very beautiful! Mediterranean ironwork tends to be more ornate than the contemporary railing shown in your photo, so posting fencing and entry gates that compliment the overall design. Christi, on behalf of Thos. Baker

This is a most unusual and interesting structure. I would not have been sure it was a house from the picture. Pameladunson and I are in agreement that the strong visual difference between the rather utilitarian-looking "guard" at the roof and the more decorative fence/gate in front isn't visually pleasing. Both should be from the same architectural design family, although they need not be identical. The windows appear to have quite a bit of small architectural detail as best I can make out from the photo. The railing in front seems to have a scale that is better relative to those window details than does the "guard" at the roof, so I would probably opt for changing the roof "guard", not the railing in front. If do-able dollar-wise, It might be even better to remove both the roof "guard" and the railing/gate in front and design something new for these areas that is a good match with the most striking details elsewhere on the house.

We initially planned to renovate our old home. But during the middle of renovation work, we changed our mindset to build a new one. Hence we made a house design by ourselves(3BHK) with the help of our local builder and to save the cost we tried to reuse all possible materials that were extracted while demolishing our old home((i.e.., like red tiles placed on the top of left side of porch). The project is in last phase, now I feel that still we could do something to enhance the beauty of exterior of home by getting some ideas from experts. We just finished the painting of primer coating, yet to paint the final color. The pic you posted with color looks awesome, planning to paint the same color.
