First of all, I don't think that furniture is comfortable enough to sit and watch TV, so the TV should be remove from that room, the purple wall paper and the purple furniture is too much, you should consider another color for that wall and the furniture against the wall it doesn't look good. What is that room at the end is kind of dark and I cannot appreciate exactly what is the purpose of that room. I'm a firm believer in skylights, we have skylights in the laundry room, kitchen, living room and office, they make a big difference. (if you cannot have skylights (or tube lights) can lights are a great option. There are a lot of great ideas from everyone. I can't wait to see the after photos.

#1 is the only one that works with your doorways. But I would rethink the sectional pieces which look too large. You will need at least a floor lamp. Your table/chairs looks narrow in relation to your sectional - is it to scale in the drawing? You may not have enough room. I would use a sofa against the wall and two chairs on either end facing toward each other.

I don't have a pic unfortunately. My parents spent a long time in UK and naturally brought home some influences. I still remember the Little Woods book that my mother would go through and take ideas for some of the furniture. And the most important influence of course would be of using wallpaper. All our rooms were wallpapered end to end as well as the ceiling of the living area. And of course her focus on keeping things neatly and beautifully.

Hi, Congratulations on your new home! It seems really lovely place. I'd like to know whether are you planning on renovating whole space or just changing the furniture? If you are only going for furniture, here are few images of couch attached, please have a look. I say, align the couch along the walls so that you can get more area to use. Go for regular couch and chairs. If I'm not wrong TV is placed above the fireplace. Suggestion: bring it to eye level. TV is normally placed at the height of an average 30".
