This house does not have gutters. With simple roof designs where water is not being channeled to valleys that produce concentrated flows, gutters are not absolutely necessary. After dripping off the eaves rain water is collected at grade and diverted away from the foundation via a sub-surface drainage system consisting of a stone apron, filter fabric and perforated PVC pipe. The benefit is a cleaner look and easier maintenance.
