It doesn’t sound like the room is big enough. You need a decent space otherwise it will look weird.

Ok so this is the whole room. But I kind of agree with you I think it is going to be tight and it will have to go in front of the balcony doors so it will just look silly ☹️

If you want something bold you can't do it half way.
Single flooring overall or ditch the bath away from that window.
You can always put an 'ensuite' with glass partition

can you post a plan of the bedroom, ensuite and adjoining rooms with all dimensions so we can see how much space you have to work with

I'm thinking Hugh Hefner..... on a serious note, is the floor strong enough in the bedroom for the weight of a full bath. Sorry, but I like privacy for my bathing. Can you enlarge your bathroom to fit the freestanding bath? Have you costed the installation of plumbing versus enlarging your ensuite?

What about out on the terrace ? That would leave enough space to have quite a luxurious bedroom .

Okay , on a slightly more serious note , you are this far into the renovation , and deciding where to place things ? Each to their own !

I would have thought there looks to be enough room in the existing bathroom to have a freestanding bath along the one interior wall , and still have a shower , a vanity and probably a toilet -- you'd obviously want matching or similar styles ( a freestanding antique bath with gold claw feet , a timber vanity with black chrome handles and taps , and a shower with side jets and flashing coloured LED lights , and a distressed timber long drop probably would look a bit of an unusual combo hahaha ) .

Or another thought -- can you replace the 'side' window in the bedroom for a smaller window , say only the top half ? You could possibly even just paint the bottom half black , then add timber and gib over the bottom half -- the inside would look cohesive then , and the outside looks like it is 1st storey , so not too noticable . THEN , you could have the bath along the wall where the internal door is , and the bed close to the terrace door . Yes , more $$$ on plumbing , and in fact , it might be impossible ( well , very difficult ) , or uneconomic , but that seems one other possibility ?

Will there be an extraction fan in the bedroom. I imagine that all that steam is not good for carpet, drapes and other soft furnishings in your bedroom.

Without dimensions, it's a little hard to give accurate advice! For clients who are wanting a bathtub but only have a small space, we would suggest a partial wetroom style bathroom where the bathtub is at the back of the room, the shower beside the bathtub which is then petitioned by a shower screen from the vanity (see image)

If the room you have is not big enough for a partial wetroom design and you really would like a bathtub, then you might need to settle for a shower over the bathtub. With proper drainage and waterproofing you won't even need a shower curtain but you will need to make sure your vanity is positioned far enough away from the shower to not get water spray from the shower.

Another design option would be to have the bath, shower & toilet in the ensuite and the vanity outside the ensuite room in the bedroom.

My 5cents worth is anything in a bedroom to do with a bathroom is a bad move.

Can you build a bath size (perhaps Glass) alcove out from the bathroom on to the outside terrace just big enough for the bath?
