Try doing searches in the photo section for the room or style you are looking for, but put the word "small" in the search. There are lots of photos on Houzz of modest--even quite tiny--spaces. You just have to look for them. The slide show on the Home page always seems to have the big showy rooms featured, but Houzz has over a million photos, with many sizes of houses and rooms included. For example, here's what comes up first when you search for "small kitchen"

Recliners . Yes ! As it was the ONLY essential item for a house according to the man of house . So we bought it . Actually two of it . I didn't like it to be placed facing the TV always as it would disrupt the harmony . Thanks to La-z boys - got two swivel fitted ones . One swoosh and it tours toward TV .yep !!

Hi Joyce...what u pointed out is true..thanks! One of the minor changes I'm making is to give another door /opening from the kitchen into the passage just outside the family room area so that the family needn't visit the dining area to access the family living space....regarding the laundry..its a regional thing..in India, the laundry is usually handled by the lady of the house and the maids! The other members of the family would place their soiled stuff in a wicker basket in their individual rooms and every day these would be collected,sorted & laundered by the mom/maid!

They have amazing ideas. In the side of the kitchen and attached with the common bath indicated in plan), you can create storage. Do not go for the upper cabinet, opt for S hook for hanging utensils and other things.
