Julie, thank you for the inquiry and the kind comment. The door did turn out beautiful. It was ordered semi-custom from Buffelen Door Co, and then finished by our talented partner in a completely customized stain (stain was mixed in shop in stages, not just from paint store). In any case, please be advised that we had to update our photo page of this door because we had an issue I thought unacceptable with the door. I'll copy those comments here, but you can also see them on the photo page on the lower right where questions/comments are.
" Update: I feel the need to provide an update on this particular door. It is a Buffelen Door Co semi-custom wood door. Recently, my customer noticed a crack running clear through the center panel...from top to bottom. It occurs right at the seam of two boards glued together to make that center panel. This occurred in less than three years on a well protected, well finished wood door. Though beyond the one-year warranty, we contacted Buffelen to discuss a clear defect that should be considered outside of warranty. Buffelen declined to stand behind their product, and denied any claim. Needless to say, I will NOT RECOMMEND Buffelen to any customer, nor to any Houzz user. Please do your research carefully on custom door companies."
Don't let that discourage you. Take the photo to a local lumber provider (not a big-box-store), and they can turn you on to a reputable, quality door company that either has something similar, or can replicate this.
