First move the chair that is sitting beside the sofa so that it faces the other chair, get a rug with some color or texture or both. Some art work on the walls a larger coffee table. Take the clock off the wall, mount the speakers and get rid of that thing under the T.V. and lower the T.V. so the center of the screen is at eye level when you are sitting. put a low cabinet below for any stuff you need. Hi Anuragini, Well we usually decorate all the "livable" spaces of our home and often skip the transitional ones. Revamping these with a little bit of creativity adds immensely to the entire aesthetics of the home space. Here are a few suggestions - 1. Adding an accent piece such as a huge wall clock or a wall sculpture can really add drama to the staircase space, bringing it into the limelight. Travel collectibles such as masks from all the countries you have been too or little mementos collected as you travel also make up for a very interesting display. They give the otherwise drab wall a huge face-lift. 3. Photographs of your family, their travels, their achievements are always a great option to decorate the staircase wall with. This way you can relive those memories and they serve as good conversation starters too. For a more softer look you may opt for wallpapers as well. These days they come in all colours, patterns and textures providing a lot of options to choose from. You can go for the regular damask ones if you want to play safe as they are not very loud and act as a good background to photo frames, mirrors etc. If you want to make a statement you may opt for rather bold colours with simple geometric patterns as elaborated below. Hi Gaurav, I suggest you rid of some things. It looks so cluttered. 1. Change the curtains. the seat covers on the sofa need to go. 2. The part of stereo, vase , dolls and clock ... need to do something here. I am going to suggest minimal change - remove the clock, its not matching any element in the room. Remove the vase, also, the cloth on the mantle doesnt look good, remove that too.the dolls and stero also dont look great but if u insist keep t there. 3.The painting near the fridge doesnt match any element of the room. The pink colour on the walls dont match any element of the room. Since you might want to keep the carpet, why don't you change the wall colours ? Then get rid of the things i mentioned.Not able to see the other corner near the bed like thing.Also, the covers on the bed like thing need to go too - they need to match something.. . atom INTERIORS, Bangalore
