Is it advisable to keep plywood exposed
Comments (7)I think this is a question of terminology. The vast majority of sheet-stock you see is veneered plywood, or these days, particle board or MDF. Plywood, by it's nature is multiple laminations. What you'll want to determine is the quality of the outermost veneer, and whether it's an acceptable grade to clearcoat, stain, etc. It sounds like you're looking to maintain the grain rather than paint over it... ??? If so, apply a clearcoat first. You should not simply polish raw wood or veneer. You may polish a coated veneer - but it would be coated with a varnish or laquer, etc first. Anything needs to be finished in some manner....See MoreIs it good idea to build staircase in apartment which is not duplex?
Comments (2)Well this is quirkiest query around :) Yes, stairs do add a lot of character to any area. And this plan will make your home the topic of conversation in the neighbourhood . BUT, it will take away a lot of floor space so unless your living area is X-large and ceiling is higher than 11 ft do not make this in your living. A regular 9+ ceiling will show up that the stairs leads to no where...If you still want to do it..then do it in some thing temporary like wood so that when you realise it's not right ..you can part with it easily.. Otherwise, you can have a kids bed mounted on the ceiling and have stairs built to reach that... Thanks Amit Cornerstone Designs Bangalore...See MoreDining area Crocery and storage
Comments (5)Thank you Nitin, The Pooja wall and outside balcony space sounds good to me. I dont think I can make anything near to the bathroom! The only think I should keep in mind here is the poojawall has couple of constraints. I cannot make anything above the mandir! and that spot is also a walkway so I need to keep thie width accordingly ! Regards Mahesh...See MoreTall and semi tall units
Comments (4)HU, Usually it is 2 , i.e. micorwave and oven unit inbuilt in a tall unit. You can keep the separate unit in the tall unit as many people want the look of tall unit but don't want to let go of their existing appliances. If you are keeping a provision for future make sure gaps are as per the size of your planned model Only by side is that it looks odd.
