Hi Gaurav, It really depends on what kind of circulation you need around this room. Where the door behind the sofa comes from and where the door next to the shelving takes to... What do you have on the wall from where you took the picture? Is it a window? If you are keeping this rug, definitely the best option would be to put one part facing the other and getting yourself a nice rectangular coffee table. On your first option, you can keep the rug and a lower and squared coffee table is needed. But, bear in mid that you are "blocking" the door and the incoming circulation. And on your second option, you would need a new bigger rug to cover the area and most likely side tables near the sofas too. Another idea is having the sofa in L shape, but standing where you were when taking the picture. It would leave the circulation from the door clear. Please let me know what you think. Good luck, Ana

I think kitchen and eating area should be next to each other and kitchen should be near or next to an entry for ease in putting away food stuff. The sitting area should be near an outside view to add relaxed vibe to area and the TV should be opposite sofa for easy viewing.....sometimes necessary to move the TV and rewire accordingly. Pooja's placement is what I was talking about, if you like the NiTi has placed it, shifting the wires is not as expensive an affair as you think it to be. you can pull them from the false ceiling. another thing you can do is use them as two separate pieces. have a C side table that goes under the sectional for a built in side table look for the right piece and use the left as a chaise. You could also shorten it. that will be cheaper but you'll need a skilled craftsman otherwise the structure can be compromised. since you're planning to reupholster, shortening it is also a viable option.
