advice on ottoman and it’s colour

Hi guys just got an ottoman to complement The space . It is not the same colour and texture but very similar as you can see . Have posted pics before and after the ottoman . Please advise what do you think . Also important I will be putting some colourful wall art on the opposite wall

Comments (8)This is a dilemma indeed! Posts in the middle of rooms are always a little difficult. It would be helpful to have pictures of all four walls to suggest the best layout. From what I can understand of your dilemma, I've attached a layout that may work based on your description. It features a defined entry. So when you walk through the front door, you will see a console table with a couple of ottomans stashed beneath. They can come in handy for extra seating. In front of the console are two arm chairs, followed by a modular sectional - they make up your main seating area. To the right of the kitchen door is a TV console. Behind the sofa is a bookcase and to the right is a round table with a couple of chairs for games, paper work or what have you. You don't mention any windows. Is this the case? Comments (138)Leather sofas can really dominate the room and can give an overall cold feeling. I would add some earthy elements, like a wood coffee table with glass or metal. Go to Restoration Hardware's website and look at their sofa room scenes. And I'm sorry I think the art is too harsh for the room. That's all your eye goes to in the room. too overpowering. I would look for something softer or maybe a cool mirror and I would add color to the room with pillows and some colorful lamps. I also think woven blinds would look great. They add warmth and give a finished look. The color of your window treatments should contrast your wall color a bit, not match it or else it starts to look generic and blah.. Comments (10)Yes your right Abhisek it does look a little dull coz the walls are bare and nothing is put together. Once you put up the curtains and add some cushions and a coffee table and place some of ur personal decorative things everything will look put together. Looking at the pic I feel like u want a neutral colour palette so depending on that yes u can go for cream or very light hues of brown like beige or even some pastel colours will look very nice. U don’t have to match everything exactly same colour but try and stay in the same colour with different shades. You can also add one piece of contrast to add that pop of colour so it doesn’t look too pale. Maybe u can try and rearrange ur furniture if possible coz ur sofa seems to be quite far from the tv unit....it’s not necessary to leave the entire passage going to the balcony open...I think u can pull ur sofa a bit closer. I hope am making some sense. 😄 try and add a patterned curtain since rest everything is plain. Attaching a pic for ur reference hope it helps....See Morekerri1400

5 years agoUnless you're using the two matching chairs to watch TV across the room, then send back the ottoman, put the chairs there, and the black chair where the two chairs were. With the ottoman refund, get a couple of very large paintings or bold black and white photos oversized for over your sofa---sorry, can't resist:
