that's right. a column like this is not a handicap at all. it's not too deep, so it does not take up much space. As kalatmak space has suggested, one of its uses would be to place a cove light. you can also extend a shallow shelf of the same depth above the bed to place tiny led lights below it and light up the wall behind. then you can also do a false wall extension behind to place the bed against it and create a little niche above the bed head. you could paint that niche in a different colour

I am guessing you don't wish to finish the exterior with a plaster. So the next best option according to me would be to extrude the column outwards by about 1 feet with a fabricated structure cladded with ACP, Cement sheet, composite exterior panels, or any other surface/material of your choice. Hi Shivam, the best size is either 300mm x 300mm or 600mm x 600mm. The reason is - smaller the tile size better the maintenance of slope to achieve drainage of water. Also, use anti skid tiles to avoid accidents.
