One possibility would be to swap the living room and the dining room. Since the current living room is larger than the current dining room you could still keep some comfortable seating (couch and upholstered chairs?) against the front wall for a keeping room/dining concept. Then your new dining areas (kitchen and dining room) and living areas (living and drawing room) would have good flow between them, which would work well both for family and entertaining. You could also add some builtin bookshelves in the drawing room or new living room to create a library area to add another fun element to the living areas. These bookshelves could be against the long walls in the drawing room, around the window with a window seat in the living room (former dining room), or built to create some separation in the open area between the drawing room and living room/stair area. Your plan seems to show some sort of builtin there, but I'm not sure what it is.

A houzz contributor, not too long ago, had made a wine rack out of 4'x4' wooden pallets, that are used in the US to move a load of goods with a fork-lift truck. Perhaps they have them in your country. He cut them in half so they were only two feet deep and stacked them up to high counter height. 16' long is a lot of room. Can you post a pic of the rest of the room? Remove every door you can. Every doorway does not need one and doing this one simple thing will remove a ton of bulk and make your space feel more open - no need to remove the hardware if you think you might want the doors back sometime in the future. Are you up for painting the walls and possibly the trim? Is this a sectional? If so, you might have to split it in order to get it to fit. The curtain into the bedroom is a good thing. I have used that idea, I love it, and I am not from India! Change them out for a lighter color and add panels to the ones you have - make them at least 3x fuller than the doorway. Pull them all over to the hinge side of the frame after the door has been removed. Your pictures need to be rehung and you can address that once you have found a furniture arrangement that works.

For start I would get rid of those blinds.it would open the space up.I would get those linen drapes in cream color and put them next to each window.I would also put a couch looking toward the windows and in right corner i would try and get a media table and put tv on it.maybe get a nice carper (jute is nice with dark floors)and I would get some nice chandelier maybe industril or modern looking and some small table to go infront of the sofa.this room has a lots of potnetial.do not give up :)
