Hi Emran, What a great size room you have. You need to create two sitting areas within the space, and pull them into the room (get them off the wall), also I can see from the fantastic chandelier that you have, that the dining table must stay where it is. I would recommend you go with 3 large area rugs, at least 10x12 looking at the size of your room. What a beautiful house, Shahbaaz! I live in a similar house - a 150-year-old colonial bungalow in Kumaon. You have already received lots of excellent advice from better-qualified people, so all I would say is, keep its age and heritage character the central theme. The white tiles do clash, I am afraid ... flooring with terracotta tiles would echo the roof and look lovely. The columns and the arches over the doors and windows are amazing. But I'd say, leave it all chuna-painted - there's a beauty and softness to it. Don't let the painters add too much neel (indigo) in the limewash -- in the hills where I live, they put far too much if I don't watch out and the result is a harsh white. Natural lime has a softer, creamy look.

Hi Samata, You can go with the cornice ceiling if you have some other source of light in your room other wise you can go with cove lighting too if you don't have the specific source of light apart from this.Since the texture of the sides of the doors are dark so it would really goes better with dark shaded cornice ceiling style. Further it goes matching to your flooring design too. You can also add some finish to your wall like in the above ones to bring out a good look to your room or passages. As the colour of the cabinets matches with the flooring style too. i hope this will help !
