When people go with two-toned cabinets, most people use a lighter color on top and a darker on the bottom. Paint the top cabinets first, see how you like them, and then you can decide if you want to switch up the bottom ones.

I kind of agree with jenwen that the white does not really fit if you are trying to keep the log cabin look. Another color might be better than stark white.

I really like your wood cabinets, and they go well in your log cabin. You might take a look at your kitchen floor. Maybe something different would provide the contrast you seek. Another possibility would be some fun new laminate countertops.

Typically when we do a two tone kitchen we go light on the uppers and darker below. Keeping the uppers light colored make the room feel lighter. The darker heavier color typically goes below to "ground" the space. I agree that I would not use "white" but a soft white or soft earthy color (have some fun) would work. However, in doing so you may loose that log cabin feel. I would suggest clean the cabinets really well and add some mountain hardware.

Add a patterned indoor/outdoor rug to cover most of the floor and a valance at the window. Done!
