You have very high walls so I would do a tall wainscot on the walls to create some warmth and decoration at the same time. Take everything off the walls and remove all the small little shelfs and decorations, leave only the big furniture. Then start over with the wall decor. Need some bold statements to create some balance and interest but not clutter. Add some larger shelves if you need shelves, something hefty and interesting. It's hard to see wall color and how it works with the upholstery. Do you need all that furniture in the space? I would thin it out. Remove one of the sofas and place the chairs across from the other one. Open up the space in front of the window. Add a sofa table behind a sofa along the wall and decorate it with a couple large vintage style lamps with some accent color (pull a color from the rug that you like) on each end and tablescape the middle of the table. Add a huge mirror above Bring that same accent color into the space with some bookshelf decor but not cluttery. I am not a fan of the drapes; something more neutral in a grommet panel style that can easily be opened. Hang them at the ceiling. They will look really nice because they create nice gentle folds if the fabric is a bit heavy for weight. Your rugs are beautiful and very good quality. They compliment your property well. It is natural for wool to shed at first, but it will eventually stop. You can get a special carpet rake or use a broom to rake or brush the carpet weekly and also vacuum it once or twice a week. The shedding should stop after a few months. Once you get through that period, you can enjoy the many great qualities that wool has. It is extremely durable, more stain resistant than most, flame retardant and self-extinguishing, and it actually regulates temperature & humidity in the home by absorbing & releasing moisture as needed. That's how it amazingly feels warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer. Good luck! Don't give up on your rugs just yet!

Hello Monika, I must say that concrete wall is fantastic! I see a large planter with a large leaved plant there.. I like Jonathan's idea, off white or shades of cream for the remaining walls and ceiling or even a subtle stone colour.. Then we need to talk textures! I think the sofa could work if you move it out a bit from the wall and layer it up with throws and add a couple of lovely cushions.. Warm woods would be nice too to balance the room.. Have you considered adding concrete to other areas of the home? There are some fantastic concrete chairs available both as a chair and bar stool.. Could be fabulous to compliment this room.. Cox and Cox did some pendant lights that were concrete with a warm edge detail.. You could create your own arrangement with a 5 wire ceiling rose and hooks.. A glass topped coffee table could be nice too.. Have a look at eBay or vintage shops.. Oh and one more thing... You can if you like the concrete wall find wallpaper for another room say that resembles what you have in the living room or even marble! It's fabulous and a feature you want to make the most out of! :))

I wouldn't do navy but there must be other options than white. You have white tile so it might be too much of an expanse of white. If you are decorating around that lovely rug ( or are those set in tiles?), why not choose a lighter color from it and paint that color. ( A pale blue, a beige or a tan).
