I think the yellow and grey might bring out the gold-ish-ness of the couch.. I'd try to go with more blue colors.. Maybe some navy pillows and a rug with the blue in it as well. The curtains, that ying-yang rug, and the lilac rug just gotta go.. They're dwarfing all the sophistication this room will be able to have with that tile floor and those big beautiful windows. I love the dining room chairs!

HI RinaI do agree I love jewelbox rooms, but I consider them more cosy ... and with a grey marble floor it goes all Versace Italianate! I am trying to balance the colours by bringing in a pattern on the covers rather than plain. I feel this will bring colour without overpowering the room. In the pictures I showed above, the rooms are basically neutral but the colour is brought in via pattern - I think this might be the way to go...Ideally a green or blue on a subdued grey would be the best, but I dont know what the market is like for Sumit...Cushions can do a lot to tie in the other white/grey elements.Shelley - navy is a good suggestion, but as Sumits area is quite tall and thin, trying to keep the general area light Any more suggestions most welcome. These are just ideas after all and Sumit will choose what works for the room in the end ;-)

Hi there, The first position looks great, i see you have a door at the end of the room... The other side of the room is there two walls free as I think L shape sofas are always lovely up against two surfaces. Although saying that the arrangement of the L shape sofa in the middle of the room does work! Hope this helps!

Your style of sofa can handle many types and colours of fabric Now this might be too bright, but velvet is a good choice for this style of sofa This is more subdued, but still a nice choice of a linen style fabric This is very pretty and bright with a nice chintz fabric It really depends on your other decorations if the sofa is to look more formal or casual.
