Need advice on flooring for my house
Comments (3)Hi Mohit, As you rightly said that in Indian climate best is stone (Marbles, granite, sandstone etc.. ) or tiles. Before suggesting you something I would like o know your location in India and would analyse your lifestyle. While Marble seems to be an obvious choice for many its not the best material always. It is also expensive and needs high maintenance and not a sustainable material. All materials have their pros and cons. Its true wood does not essentially work in most of the climates in India however I must make you aware that there are very nice wood looking tiles available. You get the best of both worlds- cozy look and robust wear and tear. If you wish to explore further with us we provide interior design advice at nominal fees. Comments (9)thank you very much to everyone who responded! I'll look into espresso and charcoal grays. As well as the steel backplash. Emmarenes, I'm living abroad in India, and the only granites in my budget are the local ones. I was advised against the gray and white local ones because i was told that they would not hold up well in the kitchen. I could have gone with a black galaxy as well but i have that granite now and despise it because of the way it hides ants and bugs so well. we live in a tropical area and there are always critters here and there. My first choice was a Brazilian white granite but it was triple the price. This granite is called Shiva pink, so it has a pink salmon and gray look to it. Im really hoping I don't hate it once it's installed. The stoneyard was a 9 hour trip up and down and i was just pressured to make a choice after several undecided trips. And I'm getting new cabinets put in. but I think I can wait for them to put the slab before staining the wood. Thanks for that idea :)...See MoreRequire your advice
Comments (0)Is there a problem if kitchen door is close to toilet door?? If so i can attach the toilet to the bedroom nearby. Only issue in that case will be that if incase any guest need to use the toilet, then they have to go through the bedroom. Comments (0)Hi , Most people I talk to are quite unhappy with the inbuilt gas hobs due to issues with liquid seepage into the hob due to spills and problems with cleaning it. Are there any hobs which offer solid protection against these cases ?...See Moregranite guru
