I've inherited this house and started some renovation work. My problem is how to decorate the living cum dining area. The colour palette in my mind is beige and orange as The highlight. On wall 1 I would like to put the tv. But I don't how how to arrange my chairs and sofa and the dining table which we r yet to buy. The 4th wall shows the kitchen door. This room will be mainly used as a family room and to entertain very close friends. As we have a formal sitting area downstairs. Please help me with your valuable suggestions. Hello Rachna, We have gone through your posts. Please clarify the room size is it 12x8 or 16x9.3 . Let's start from bottom line, what is the budget that you can spare now for the makeover. A lot of remodelling would depend upon the budget .BTW, I really appreciate your honesty about the affordability ! Coming back to the topic, I believe your TV unit is placed in a good position but other units will require movement. Please do confirm the size. Hello there, Since you have already done the decor in contemporary finish, you could add little points of interest to complement the decor. Few tweaks for the bedroom: 1. Warm tinted etched mirror on wardrobe for both functionality and aesthetics. 2. Geometric print wallpaper or wall art for headboard wall. 3. Color sparsely some patterns on the white 3D wall panels. Like in yellows/greens. 4. Illuminate existing shelves with spot lights preferably in warm white 5. A mini area rug by the bed. 6. Try to add sheer curtains in shades of white without textures. A few tweaks for the living cum dining : 1. Add dining table decor(planter/statement salt and pepper shakers) and separate space for keeping bottles and stuffs. 2. Add a statement art of calm scenes on the wall opposite to dining table. 3. Remove the red and yellow roses( so artificial! ) and traditional vases on side table. Instead, replace them with white abstract ceramic vases and a small table lamp. 4. Try to conceal the fridge by installing a jaali wall partition between the door and fridge. 5. Illuminate the basin and mirror with two wall sconces on each side or one vanity light over the mirror. Note : Lighting scheme should be done to ensure uniformity in lux levels. Using warm white and cool white at the same places/ areas often overpowers the latter and results in deviation from human comfort thresholds and an illusion of dimly lit space even if overall power consumption is high. Hi , I understood what you meant. Seeing the layout you can utilize the wall adjacent to toilet as a position of tv unit and keep your sofa in front at least 7 ft away. your dinning table position should be at the terrace side and considering the size of the room it should be 4 seater. you can utilize the wall opposite to your kitchen for decoration ..book shelf ..etc. If you want a suitable 3d design to be done you can contact me on my mentioned contact details.
