I suggest you walk on some before deciding -- some people swear by it and others hate it after it's installed. Sliced pebbles are an option for keeping everything level...
I have sensitive feet (can't stand to walk on stones or concrete or grass or sand, etc) so a pebble shower floor would be HELL....but that's me. You need to know if you can handle/will be happy with a pebble floor.
And some of the worst installs on Houzz have involved pebble floors in showers...and they are very tough to keep the grout clean. And the real stone versions still need to be sealed. Just like "stone" floors.
The choice is yours. But first...bare foot on pebbles to find out if you like it underfoot.
