like so (sorry took liberty with your pic using paintbrush app). in second tv be installed on an island of a solid wall, remaining wall be of glass: use frosted tempered glass for doors n all.. this way you get another expanse of wall to do loads with n utilize full potential (area) of room.. also providing a wall surface on the back of the tv 'island' wall to the sitting area for say a painting, maybe? plus tehre won't be glare on the tv screen either if it's on teh wall-glass partition.. only issue being the slightly longer approach (i-e through dressing room) to bathroom area, which ain't so bad either.. in ur original plan i don't like how a door is sprouting out in the middle of a great expanse of wall... what a waste..

Go cream base and a contemporary design in very bold colors, red, yellow and black, teals mix it up. Can you get regular chairs. Those look like game chairs, can they go in kids room? Pull sectional into room out of corner face TV wall. With big rug and a 36" ottoman square. In a color. Maybe zebra for fun. On TV wall. Get a wall to wall floor to ceiling or close to it wall unit. Ikea has some go white. Get. Long low media cabinet. Also Ikea in white. Place TV on top. Fill wall unit with colorful pots candles books. Just don't over do leave 50% empty. You could paint that wall a darker (2) shade of walls. After you have centered sofa in room more. On wall behind a very large art contemporary 40x40 hang very low. On empty wall in dining area. Get a long 6-7 ft chest. Something different. Asian feel red lacquered would be fun. Over it add big art piece bold colors 40 x40 hang 6" above top of cabinet. More art big by dining table. I would change chairs to a high back leather in Teal. Pier one has them. Your whole place needs color. Area rug under table 8 x10. Solid teal. Add big palms in corner to fill and warm up space. In chairs get two swivel barrel type in a print. Modern go taupe and blue/greens. Wi Dow panels on ends only in teal. Ck bed n bath. TJMax a good source. For art ect.

the 9' ceiling height will definitely help you with this. Here's what I would suggest (not knowing how far the side window is from the wall with the door on it: Use the wall with the door as the bed and closet/storage area. Build a closet, and put a loft bed at the top. Because it would have to be custom built, you can decide how high it is or how much storage you need. Kind of like this: [houzz=] or this: [houzz=] Can the space below the back window become a desk? And or/build a desk there with storage flanking it. Keep in mind that this isn't a very large room, and he'll probably want as much floor space as possible (at least my 8 year old does!).

Hi Princey, Windows bring in ample light and provide ventilation to a room and at the same time bring the outsides visually in. Hence, it is necessary to determine their not only their size but also their location in a room. Deciding the lintel and sill level of the windows may depend on the overall look of the building or a home as they alter the elevation to a great extent. A standard 3' sill and 7' lintel gives you a 4' height to work with. You may then increase or decrease its width to your requirement. Anything between 4'-6' is a good window width. If possible you may decrease the sill level to 2' to increase the window size where you want. Avoid doing this where the bed would be as its headboard will cover a large part of the window. Alternatively you may go for french windows/doors for living rooms. As far as the design of the window is concerned, it largely depends on the functionality. Accordingly, the windows may be side hung, sliding, louvered, top hung, fixed etc. These days mostly we go for sliding or side hung ones. How they look will depend a lot on their mechanism. However, their style may be changed as per the aesthetics of the room and overall building elevation. Here are some examples - These go well with classic, colonial and Indian styles. These go well with minimalist, modern and contemporary styles.
