Confused between Pure white quartz and granite countertops for kitchen

I am in the process of choosing countertop for my kitchen , I am confused between choosing pure white quartz and a beautiful granite. I have read that quartz is better that granite and is heat and stain resistant. Need advice from current quartz users please, Thank you

Quartz is stain resistant. My husband spilled red Kool Aid on the countertop that I found the next day. No stains!

Neither are heat resistant, especially if you are taking a hot pot from the stove or oven and placing them directly on the countertop. You have to use a trivet for every countertop.

I like my quartz, Cambria Bellingham. No sealing, no etching, no worries!!

quartz is a man made product using natural stone and a resin material. No sealing and is stain proof. I have had my granite for 10 years. I have never had a staining issue and set hot pots down on it seldom, but it has never bothered it. I've sealed it maybe 2-3 times over 10 years. granite really doesn't stain. So, compared to quartz, they are very similar. It all comes down to what you like the best.

Your choices don't flow well to me. The flooring in your photo is pretty (very dark...are you okay with it showing every footprint, smudge, and dust bunny? If so, that's fine). From all of your options there I would do white cabinets with the Himalaya White granite. But you said ignore the granite. :) I would go for the gray cabinets with white quartz everywhere in that case, but personally I'd worry about gray cabinets being very dated in a few years. Is there another quartz option that you could pair with the white cabinets that is light in color and maybe has some movement, like LG Bianco Drift?

Hello Saj shk, Always avoid using high gloss as oil stains are more prominently seen in such surface. Your grey laminate is too dull and shabby to be used in an area where you need more lively effect. Try to go for different combination. Now a days acrylic sheets are available with great finish and good colours and it is 90degree bendable so joints are smooth and finished. Design the o.h. cabinets in such a way that you utilise total height of the kitchen and Use profiles for the same.

I have used both with good results. The main difference between Quartz and Granite are 1) price, 2) colour range. Granite generally works out cheaper, because you can buy the exact quantity you require. Quartz comes in large slabs of specific sizes- standard size being roughly 10'-0" x 4'6", so there tends to be more wastage if you don't plan the cutting well. But Quartz is pretty and comes in a wide range of colours and can be re-buffed at a later date. Quartz also comes in various thicknesses- the most commonly used being .75" to about 1.25". And especially when you use dark wood cabinets in a kitchen or bathroom, beige and white counter tops work very well. Some people go even with coloured counter tops like blue, orange, yellow. Natural stone in light colours tend to be porous and stain easily, so I prefer to go with pure black which is safe.

I've had my white quartz counters for over a year. Pretty and easy to maintain. Part of your decision depends on your backsplash. I chose a Carrara gold marble so I wanted a simple counter. If my counter was busier, like a granite, I'd have gone with a quieter backsplash.

I am thinking of combination of cold spring granite and pure white quartz. I was thinking of granite on the perimeter and quartz on the island with a backsplash similar to the one in the pic .Any suggestions ?
