Hi Cynthia, thanks for your comment. I still haven't decided about lighting. First, I'm trying to get as much natural light as possible. If there are still some dark corners left, then I'm planing to use light on those areas.

I would use the greens from your bedspread. Since you have green in the bedspread, and brown and white tiles, those 3 colors need to be your focal point. So I have painted your wall a bright olive green ( the darker color in your bed spread) and the ceiling either a brown to match the tile or a white to match the rest of your ceiling. then or I think this last one is a little tamer . But you should be able to paint over the tile. WHAT kind of tile is it? If it is ceramic you can paint it. I would leave it as it is since any items you place up there needs to be maintained and that is one more task we would be adding to the lady of the houzz. but if you are still wanting to add something for that first client impression may be few large glass pickle jars or just two of three colourful glass sculptures. as would perhaps know - less is more in modern design.
