Montabella , you're right , blinds are gold colored

the inspiration photo and your room look nothing alike..talk about lighting making a difference..The inspiration has the smoke color look a more blue gray while yours appears towards beige. The colors in your photo seem to go well together, especially that you seem to have a beige carpet

I would go lighter and brighter...with BM snow on the mountain...it will allow the Providence blue to really standout!

Home Interiors with Ease, in regards to color , I was also thinking Sea Urchin of BM. Inspiration comes from this picture ... do you think it'll work with my Providence Blue ? also do you think I should redo ceiling in Snow on The Mountain or if doing all other walls in Sea Urchin I should use same color for the ceiling to brighten it up ? Anyone else , any ideas ? appreciate you guys a lot !

I would do BM Snow on the mountain on ceiling and walls... Sea Urchin is to peachy of a color...this is Sea Urchin compared to Snow on the mountain.

the inspiration bedroom has a white wall and it is very big and bright the Windows directly across from the white wall is reflecting a lot of light into the space....lighting is so important to keep in mind.

Ok you might be able to get away with your inspiration...you really need to lighten up the side walls...it will help reflect light in the room. What color is your furniture? If it is white you need to match that to the walls just like the inspiration picture. I would find a larger ceiling light too!

do you mean I still can go with Sea Urchin color on the walls /ceiling ? :) the furniture will be brand new white high gloss computer desks .

Yes you can leave the blue on ceiling and one accent wall...

Oh no...not Sea Urchin it is way to peachy...stick with Snow on the mountain or go with a very bright white like the inspiration picture..

BM decorator white might be perfect with your high gloss white desk.

You dark blue ceiling is going to interfere with any lighter wall color you try.

Paint the rest of the walls the blue and Simply White on the ceiling.

thank you SO much ! I've been literally not sleeping over this dilemma . lol Now just need to re-do :( Is there a good general guideline you can share how to pick colors ? :) I've tried to follow BM's site and it didn't seem to work out . any color picked from Houzz designers always worked though

Hi Home Interiors with Ease, yes my last response was to you since you've been really helpful !!

Judy G made a very important point. Color is relative so the deep ceiling color is affecting the room completely and your interpretation of the color smoke. I would first repaint the ceiling, light but not too bright. Something like Ben Moore paper white (see here-

Would work well. Then you can reevaluate the color smoke. In general those 2 colors work beautiful together but let's look again after the ceiling. I will repost with a couple other options for the accent wall for consideration.

I think you will achieve very close to inspiration with the bright white side walls. And again I would replace ceiling light with something larger to give off much more light.
