Very interesting space and the exterior looks fabulous. My only critic is that I don't really love the kitchen layout. I feel like the peninsula cuts off the flow, but I understand the reason for wanting to have the cooking area on the peninsula facing the dining area. I feel if you were to get rid of the peninsula and add cabinetry on the blank long wall with the cooking area, you would be able to get more counter space for prep and additional storage. Perhaps you would also be able to incorporate a table island. You may need to relocated the sink onto the back wall to comfortably add an island/table. I'd play around with it a bit.

Hi all, My existing kitchen needs a major revamp and I am currently in the process of talking to kitchen vendors to redo the whole thing and also add a kitchen island for regular dining. I am a bit confused about what finishes to go for to achieve a classy yet fun kitchen. I love the Spanish/ Moroccan tiles that are in style these days and would love to use them on the back splash and floor. Also, mostly got to go with black granite counter tops to survive Indian cooking. For top cabinets, If i got with white matte/hi-gloss(you can suggest which easy to maintain and look good) and wood veneer on bottom cabinets, would it be too busy and clash ? Hi Hallsandra, I am going to guess the colour of the floor black and suggest: - if you are thinking white I suggest cream or off-white will be really good. -you can also go with ore than one colour eg. floor level cabinets teal or jade and upper cabinets orange or floor level cabinets light grey and upper cabinets white or off white, -another choice is to go yellow -how about nude pink? Other suggestions are tidewater blue, bamboo leaf green etc. Hope that was helpful. If you tell us the exact colour of the floor, the tile on the wall even we could help you narrow it down. @Rock Doc: Are you addressing this to me? I haven't actually bought these tiles yet - when I do, I will definitely be going for the handmade ones. They're a work of art and irreplaceable in my opinion. However, there are also screen-printed tiles available in the market in more or less the same patterns; the workmanship is of course different, but you get them cheaper, and they're also more easily available. You could give that a shot. I'd recommend Aakaar Flooring Solutions - they're here on Houzz and are able to provide both the above-mentioned types.
