Hey! Normally the door and the trim can differ in colour if there is another element pulling the trim colour on it. for instance if you have baseboards (which India doesn't) or wainscoting. Then you can use the colour of the trim on those elements. Since yours is a single unit, go for a cohesive whole with the trim and the door. In case you like paint, go for PU, it'll give you an excellent finish and will last long.
