Greetings! The best option for in this case is using a wallpaper. You get a lot of different kind of wallpapers from Metallic ones to floral prints and some nice fabric texture ones too. Having a fabric on the wardrobe is a tedious and high maintenance. Since you will be constantly touching your wardrobe shutters, the fabric may get dirty and even catch stains due to moisture or any dirt. Wallpapers today are more effective and easy to clean and maintenance free. The advantage of having wallpapers is that you can replace them after few years if you are bored of them and the process is pretty easy. The cabinets below and above the counter can be finished with a light toned wood grained laminate. if you feel that is too plain, another option would be to go with light wood grain below and plain off white above. Maybe add a couple of wood grained shutters above also to break the monotony
