The backsplash is actually a grey coloured smoked mirror, and I am not sure what the second question you are asking with in regards to how the lower cabinets were "framed" - can you please rephrase?

Thank you. What I mean is that it looks like the bottom edge of the upper cabinets matches either the countertop or the top edge of the lower cabinets.
