Thank u all so much, though I must clear the confusion on the pic I posted... The actual space as of now has -'no cladding or wood planks' what so ever, it does have the same rectangular shape, the same ceiling pop, with the same electrical points for TV, and a balocny at the opposite end. Which is why, I was seeking your feedbacks. :)

thank you very much to everyone who responded! I'll look into espresso and charcoal grays. As well as the steel backplash. Emmarenes, I'm living abroad in India, and the only granites in my budget are the local ones. I was advised against the gray and white local ones because i was told that they would not hold up well in the kitchen. I could have gone with a black galaxy as well but i have that granite now and despise it because of the way it hides ants and bugs so well. we live in a tropical area and there are always critters here and there. My first choice was a Brazilian white granite but it was triple the price. This granite is called Shiva pink, so it has a pink salmon and gray look to it. Im really hoping I don't hate it once it's installed. The stoneyard was a 9 hour trip up and down and i was just pressured to make a choice after several undecided trips. And I'm getting new cabinets put in. but I think I can wait for them to put the slab before staining the wood. Thanks for that idea :)

It took me ten years to figure out as an adult why my allergies are non stop when I visit my moms custom home. This morning I figured it out. Pine floors. We eliminated feathers, my seasonal allergies and there are no other triggers apparently in this house. I have to take the max allergy meds per day to be here. Treating the floor did not stop this from.happening to me as my allergies are severe. So heads up guys, people can react to the wood flooring even after its treated

Aluminium/UPVC - Its light weight and durable, it is cheap but very bad against fire. UPVC would burn in seconds if it happens to catch fire. UPVC windows come with limited color options and same with aluminium ones. However, there are few companies who have now started providing wood looking UPVC windows.Moderately resistant to heat. Wood - Wood windows look very rich and you can mould it to any intricate details. It all depends on the quality of wood used, Old Burma Teak is the best wood. You get various options with polishing and painting. They are best to give a vintage look. Wood will cost you more but its worth the investment since they are maintenance free and with right wood chosen and treated, it will remain durable for years. Resistant to heat but catches fire.
