Does my Foyer look Plush ?
Comments (66)Vikrant, is the picture taken from the front of your Entry door? I love your style and pieces. Just a few suggestions if this is the view when you first step into the foyer, I am not an expert! Ganesh in the place of the mirror to greet you and your guests as Goddess Lakshmi is supposedly behind him, will create more prosperity to the household. A recessed focal light from the ceiling to highlight its beauty. Another silver empty frame placing behind Ganesh, similar to the mirror to frame the idol or a Rajasthani silver jali work piece that way the wall behind would not look empty either! The beautiful mirror can be placed where you have the Ganesh now, that way the positive energy coming into your house does not get bounced back or out......See Morei need help for my formal living and unformal living and dinning
Comments (300)I think a comfortable distance between the island and the counter is around 42". It seems that you have only 30" between your cook top and the counter. I might be a little too tight. The wall between the entrance and the kitchen could be 4' long instead of 6', you would then be able to move the island a foot which would give you more room between the cook top and the island. Could you switch the location of the toilet and vanity in your dad's bathroom so your enter facing a vanity instead of a toilet which is a lot nicer....See Moreneed help with adding curb appeal to our new home
Comments (10)A good beginning would be to replace the walkway up to the house. A new brick walkway or stamped concrete in the same color as the brick on the house will pull all of the elements of the exterior of your home together. I made my walkway 3 feet wide with 2 feet beds on each side of the walkway in stamped concrete. Create the walkway at a distance from the house in an organic natural flowing pattern up to the house with planting beds flowing beside the walkway. Take the brick right up to the from door. Soften the entrance to your home by opening the planting beds up by the house into large organic shapes. That's what I did with my home and it changed it dramatically! It's a lot of work but what a difference!...See Morehow to overcome gray wardrobe
Comments (24)Dear Vinod, That's what happens when you give a project to a carpenter cause they view it as the single element and can't imagine where and how it is going on with the space around. "They literally don't care" except the money they save in that project. As the wardrobe is glossy and dark gray you have to make-over everything in that room to makle it look better. So better go for removing it which is more economical, and if your wardrobe is done with solid wood or timber just go for wood finish paints (veener/varnish/some other) or else go for duco paint or any other that can be applied on it. But BETTER consult a Designer or an Architect to those kind of works not carpenter or some vender. And lastly remove that funky looking overhead outcrop. Have a nice day...See Moreorlac2
